Rockwood School District
The City of Eureka is located within the award-winning Rockwood School District. The Rockwood School District has been awarded the “Distinction in Performance” award by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and a “Gold Medal” rating from Expansion Management Magazine. Surrounding Schools
In addition to the outstanding local elementary, middle & high schools, Eureka is within easy driving distance of many technical schools, two and four-year colleges and universities. Eureka is uniquely situated to take advantage of local community colleges located in the Tri-County area (St. Louis, Franklin and Jefferson Counties) which include St. Louis Community College-Wildwood Campus, Jefferson College, and East Central College.

The City of Eureka is located along I-44 at the southwestern end of St. Louis County. Our north/south connection is Highway 109. Highway 109 to the north, provides access to communities such as Wildwood, Chesterfield and Ellisville and to the south, northern Jefferson County. The City of Eureka is just minutes from the St. Louis city limits and provides access to the markets, employers/employees, cultural attractions, etc., of the entire St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
Eureka is unique among St. Louis County communities for it’s retention of a small-town atmosphere while still providing access to a major, metropolitan area. Low crime, beautiful parks and surrounding terrain, and quality schools are just some of the amenities that make Eureka a great place to live, work and play.
A new community center, municipal pool and trail system have been identified as top priorities by residents and plans for these future developments are underway. An active Parks & Recreation Department provides various recreational and cultural programming for the City that helps to foster community interest and a shared sense of place among residents.
Six Flags Amusement Park
Eureka is proud to be the home of Six Flags - St. Louis. This regional theme park draws between two and three million visitors to the community every year. Several quality campgrounds and hotels/motels are located within the City of Eureka and provide an outstanding base in which tourists can take in Six Flags as well as other area attractions.
Attractions Around Eureka
East
To the east of Eureka, visitors and residents can take in the Gateway Arch, tour the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, see Grant’s Farm, or watch the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, or St. Louis Blues.
West
To the west, the well-known Shaw Nature Reserve is located just a few miles down I-44 near Gray Summit, Missouri. If you want to take a day-long float trip on the Meramec River, many outfitters are within easy driving distance down I-44. If you want to take in the Missouri Wine Country, the wineries of Washington, New Haven, and Hermann, Missouri are all within easy driving distance.
North
Just north of Eureka, snow skiing is available at Hidden Valley. For golfers, several of the best courses in the St. Louis area are located a short distance to the north, east and south of the City.

Looking for parks? In addition to several City parks, Eureka is surrounded by outstanding public parks that give the outdoor enthusiast a variety of options. Route 66 State Park lies adjacent to the City as does Greensfelder County Park. Other nearby parks include:

Shops & Restaurants
Just want to relax? When you are done with the day’s activities, Eureka provides an assortment of quality restaurants and shops. A wide variety of nationally-known chain establishments, as well as many other excellent local restaurants and drinking establishments, all provide various dining options. The City is well-known for antiques, but there are also gift shops, coffee houses/bookstores, and many other shopping venues that may be of interest.
