The Timbers Closed Through April 3rd

The City of Eureka and Covid-19.

After several meetings and conversations with City staff, health officials and County officials, the City has closed the Timbers and Community Center until at least April 3rd (the same date as the school district current review date).

We have employees that are in the at risk group, it is near impossible to truly keep the distances recommended, and we have events and large numbers of people at these venues that are not in compliance with County health requirements.

The City essential services (police, public works, water, sewer, city hall office staff, and building), will continue, and we are regularly looking at ways to make sure we are doing everything we can to adjust to the current situation.

More guidance from the federal government is expected tomorrow (Monday 3/16/2020), and we will provide an update if more local policy changes are required.
