Whether you are constructing a new home or altering your existing residence, the City of Eureka requires you to apply for a permit to ensure that the project complies with all building and safety codes. Before you begin a project, it is recommended that you contact our Building Department so you may be informed of all necessary requirements and/or paperwork required for submittal.
Please note that adding a fence to your property also requires a permit, however, as permit requirements are specific to particular lot configurations, the permit application is only available at City Hall during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.)
