Eureka Police Department Citizen's Police Academy |
|
The City of Eureka’s Citizen’s Police Academy is an eight (8) week
program designed to give citizens a working knowledge of the Eureka
Police Department. The program is free to anyone 21 years of age or
older, but Eureka citizens and business owners will have class
priority. The Citizen’s Police Academy consists of weeknight classes, and one Saturday class. The instruction is comprehensive, and different areas of the department are covered each week. Citizens will be introduced to topics such as crime prevention; crime scene processing; traffic issues; DWI; fingerprinting; juvenile procedures; search and seizure; DARE; and firearms. These classes are not designed to make you a police officer, but rather give citizens a better understanding of police work. Class sizes are limited, so early registration is suggested. Application forms are available at the Eureka Police Department or at the following link: Citizen's Police Academy Application The next program date will be announced when scheduled. For additional information, please contact Sgt. Tom Wille at 636-938-6600. |
